Serving Clay, Oktibbeha Counties
About
The Launch Pad at East Mississippi Community College is dedicated to helping adult learners build foundational academic skills, earn secondary credentials, and transition into workforce training or college programs. To help students earn state-recognized credentials, the department provides free high school equivalency preparation for GED and HiSET exams alongside adult basic education in reading, writing, and math. Through the MI-BEST Program, learners can simultaneously pursue workforce credentials in fields like welding, industrial maintenance, or healthcare support while earning their high school equivalency. They also offer English as a Second Language instruction to help non-native speakers build conversational skills, literacy, and community integration. Additionally, the program supports career readiness through TABE assessment prep, resume guidance, and direct transition pathways into college courses or employment.
